Meet McKay

McKay is a Blue-and-yellow Macaw in her 20s with a bold, feisty personality and very strong opinions about the people she trusts. She has chosen one special person as her own and does not allow anyone else to touch her. Even so, McKay knows how to cooperate when it is time to clean her cage, especially when a favorite nut is offered as a bribe.

McKay was abandoned after being brought to a veterinary clinic for boarding. The loss and uncertainty left her deeply depressed, and she began plucking her feathers. Although much of the feather damage is permanent, McKay is now happy and secure with her chosen person and the companionship of the other parrots around her. Sponsoring McKay helps provide the nutritious food, enrichment, veterinary care, and stable sanctuary home she deserves.
